CARTOSEMIOTIC ANALYSIS OF BARNAUL CITY ATLAS

As a rule, a city atlas is complex work or product, which reflects the results of multifarious studies and documentation. It serves for the complex presentation of spatial characteristics, and also for the knowledge of society and natural medium the interrelation. The Barnaul city atlas is not exception.

The author's theoretical-methodical experience from position of the atlas cartosemiotics is presented in the poster. This is also a new methodical approach (cartosemiotic one) with a study of traditional atlases as the modular-semiotic time-spatial models of reality or fiction. This approach is based on the modular structuring and analysis of atlases.
